The CCHS Lady Panther’s Volleyball Team.

The Volleyball Lady Panthers are the 16th District Champions for the first time ever.  Also achieved the first winning season and first 20 win season in school history.

The first round of district play placed Cumberland as the 3 seed and Monroe as the 2 seed.  Cumberland won the first set 26-24 and Monroe followed up with a win 25-20.  The battle continued as Cumberland won a heated contest 31-29 and Monroe fought back and won the fourth set 25-21.  During the fifth set, Cumberland was determined, focused and attacked early and advanced to the championship round with a score of 15-9.

Clinton advanced to the championship round and won the first two sets 25-23 and 25-18.  Cumberland never gave up and won three sets in row 25-20, 25-23 and 15-9 to secure the first ever 16th District Volleyball Championship.

Madilyn Hawley was named MVP of the tournament and Marleigh Mollo, Sadie Arterburn and Kennedy England were named to the 16th District All Tournament Team.  Additionally, Madilyn Hawley and Sadie Arterburn were named to the 16th District All Season Team.

The 2024 Volleyball has been an extraordinary season with a record of 21-8, 16th District Champions and Freshman 16th District Champions.
