76 Falls Reopens

Established in 1967, though closed for several years recently, the 76 Falls country club is reopening.
Clinton County Attorney David Cross, a member of the club’s board, said that eight years have passed since the club was in operation, but it is open in May to the public.
He said Members are already playing and enjoying the refurbished country club and they consider considerable work done to the course.
“We’ve made some great improvements,” Cross said. “Like the new greens we’ve put in.”
He explained the course was originally established through a federal grant program to establish courses nationwide in the 1960s.
It is located a mile north of Ky-90 in Clinton County, on Ky-3062.
The property was owned by the nonprofit which established it, before being sold to the city of Albany and now leased back to a nonprofit, Cross explained.
He said memberships are $1,000 per year, per person, or $1,500 a year per family.
Non-member Green fees are $35 for 18 holes, or $25 for nine holes, cart included for each.
He added that reopening the course was needed, since the one at Dale Hollow State Park Resort has a heavy load of golfers and costs a bit more to play.
“I really want to extend an invitation to everyone to come and play,” Cross said. “I especially want to invite those new to the area to come and enjoy a round.”
