Special Bricks Installed at Park

Cases of paving bricks were installed on the wall at the front of the stage in Veterans Memorial Park recently. The program by the Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce allowed local individuals and businesses to purchase bricks to commemorate family members or pass on well wishes to the community. There had been extensive back-and-forth over where to put the bricks after a number of individuals stated they did not want their paving bricks “walked on.” Meanwhile, many who had purchased the bricks were advocating to get them installed somewhere. The front of the stage was chosen, and those bricks already purchased were installed.

The only bricks chosen for special display were at the center of the top row.
