Local Volunteers Step Up

The conclusion of their training the new disaster readiness team members gathered to commemorate their training.
Staff Report
Fourteen dedicated community members have officially completed their disaster response training through the American Red Cross.
These volunteers underwent rigorous training to prepare for local emergencies, ranging from home fires to large-scale natural disasters. Their certification means they are now ready to provide immediate relief—including food, shelter, and emotional support—to neighbors in their time of greatest need.
“Having 14 newly trained responders is a major win for our community’s resilience,” said Emergency Manager Greg Cary. “Their commitment ensures that when disaster strikes, we have a skilled local team ready to hit the ground running.”
