Scott Sheffield, above left, out and about in town this past week.

Scott Sheffield was out visiting this week with his wife Susan. Scott suffered severe injuries after his van was T-boned by a vehicle being pursued by law-enforcement.

This is what’s left of the van Scott Sheffield had been driving when a man Sheffield said had only been released from jail that morning plowed into the side of his van while running from police. Scott gave special praise to deputy Lance Watson for climbing into the wreck and sitting with him while first responders cut him out of the vehicle.

That Chase had begun in Pulaski County and continued all the way deep into Clinton County. The driver was reportedly traveling at over 100 mph with his lights off at night to try to evade Police. Scot said he has endured repeated surgery, and a great deal of pain as a result of that collision. Even with all the physical emotional and financial impact of that impact Scot said the family’s “Italian Bistro” will still open on the Square. He said it will likely be early March before that happens though, as he has yet to enter physical rehab, due to insurance issues.
