Memorial Day Observances
American Legion Post 119 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5419 joined Monday morning to lead a Memorial Day Observance for those who have fallen in service to our country from World War I through to recent conflict.
The newly named interns for county government were out Friday being schooled by members of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars on how to place American flags on the graves of veterans in the county’s cemeteries.
Making their way towards the graves of local veterans are, from the left,Sadie Arterburn, Emmalee Fulton, Preslie Fletcher andRaelin Castillo. VFW Commander William Will, in the red shirt, helped the students place the flags properly at veterans’ grave sites.
