Tri-County helicopter with the saw hanging beneath, trims trees along the power lines.

County Emergency Management Director Greg Cary said local power supplier, Tri-County Electric Cooperative, has had their right-of-away crew using some unique, but very effective, tree trimming methods recently.
He said they are being proactive clearing away limbs before the bad weather gets here.
Using a helicopter, suspending a large saw on a cable beneath it, they have been trimming trees near power lines in remote areas. He explained that this way when bad weather strikes, whether it be storms or winter weather, the threat to power lines is lessened as much as possible.
“Thank you to all the employees of Tri-County for always going above and beyond for our citizens,” Cary said.
