It seemed like all emergency services personnel turned out last Friday to help Michael Powell of Allen’s Creek Road in Cumberland County.

A Life Flight helicopter landed in a field along Allen’s Creek Road last Friday to wait for Michael Powell to be stabilized enough for the flight.
Powell had reportedly exited a log-skidder when the equipment ran over him.
This is an all-wheel-drive vehicle which is extremely heavy and has specialized tires to allow it to travel over extremely rough ground, sharp rocks, and felled trees’ stumps to drag trees out of the woods.
Responders on scene were requesting additional help in the form of a four-wheel-drive utility vehicle and a Stokes basket to get him from the accident scene on the ridge above Allan’s Creek to a truck capable of bringing him down to the waiting ambulance so he could be stabilized before being transported by helicopter for emergency medical services.
Powell survived the logging accident but required surgery Monday at Tristar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville where he was flown to and it’s going to be a “long road” to recovery said someone familiar with the family.

There is no additional word on his condition at this point.
