With lots of pickup trucks, horses, mules, and emergency vehicles, as well as a few floats, the Marrowbone Christmas Parade of 2025 led off local festivities for the season last Saturday.

When asked about the candy haul, one parent said their children were taking home far more candy than they did at Halloween.

It wasn’t all just candy and toys at the parade last weekend; many of the children just wanted to meet a real live mule.   PHOTO | Greg Wells

Candidates for county offices were out in force, generally in pickup trucks and throwing candy for all they were worthwhile smiling and waving.

Every vehicle was tossing goodies to the children lining both sides of Glasgow Road (Ky-90W) from Esch’s to the park.

In addition to the commercial spirit of the holiday himself, Santa Claus, there was a dump truck and trailer loaded with presents for the children.

The truck was manned by members of the Fiscal Court and County Road Department, as well as county interns from Cumberland County High School.

It took a little bit less than a half hour, the parade did not result in too much of a backlog of traffic.
