Staff Report

The Burkesville–Cumberland County Industrial Development Authority’s Board of Directors received good news first thing from President Dr. Elijah Wilson, “The auditor let me know last Friday that the audit has been completed and everything has been filed.”

He said he forwarded that information along to the State and that everything is now in order so that the financial delays are all cleared, before any money was needed for work on the Cumberland River Industrial Park (CRIP).

Staffing changes and other issues had delayed the regular audit, delaying paperwork at the state on the current project.

The placement of utilities and the driveway/entrance for the CRIP is already under contract, and the engineering company is moving the process through with the state’s highway cabinet with regard to connecting to Ky-61, North Main Street.

The board had a short discussion with the engineering company representative, Tucker England, who said he has been in discussions with the district’s supervisor to ensure there are no delays.

The board voted to have a representative at the next school board meeting to ensure they are aware of the work and address any questions they may have, since the driveway owned by the IDA runs along the side of the district’s bus barn property.

The board also reviewed and approved the financial reports and set the next meeting for 11pm June 30.
